Questions for the Journey
Defining our Quest with our Questions
As we explore the theme of Significant Living this year, part of our journey is learning the questions that will take us deeper into our dialog with Spirit. Whatever is going on in our lives, if we meet the situation from a place of wonder and question, instead of resignation or resistance, the doorway to God opens up for us.
The Questions:
Can even this be God? If God truly is all there is -- If the entire universe is the body of God -- If everyone and everything I encounter is part of that Whole, then I have to look at what is in front of me and ask myself if I can see whatever is there, as God. I learn to accept that even that which I call unpleasant could be a likeness of God.
Do I need to carry this with me anymore? When my old beliefs and stories begin to drag me down and keep me from my good, it is time to let them go. Whatever comes to me must come through me, so I need to make room for a greater good in my life by creating space for new ideas to take form.
Who am I being called to be right now? Whatever appears before me on my path, if it incites a response from me (either positive or negative), I need to pay attention. Whenever I find myself engaged with a situation, I am being called to a greater expression of myself. Another way of saying this might be, What aspect of God am I being called to express here?
Wouldn't it be wonderful if... were happening here? I am best served by focusing on what I desire, rather than fighting what is. In the middle of my struggle, I can begin to envision what I would rather be doing. I can see myself enjoying the moment. I can stop trying to fix things, and move toward a new experience. But only if I have a goal in mind!
